Story:-
Venky(Gopichand) goes against Warangal’s dreaded don Babji(Sampath) by helping his sister get married to his best friend. An upset Babji starts looking for Venky, who in turn runs away to Hyderabad. There he falls in love with Chandrakala(Rakul Preet).

Twist in the tale arises when Venky comes to know about a stunning truth about Chandrakala. What is that truth ? How will he escape from the evil clutches of Babji and marry Chandrakala ? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:-
The entire set up, story and the way this flick has been executed is quite good. Loukyam is an complete image makeover for Gopichand, and he passes with flying colors in this family entertainer. He looks dashing and carries the entire film on his shoulders. He is pretty good in the comedy scenes, and showcases his talent aptly.

Rakul Preet is yet another plus for this film. She looks gorgeous, and nicely compliments Gopichand in every department. Once again, Brahmanandam entertains as Sippy. Some of his scenes with Chandra Mohan and Hamsa Nandini have come out extremely well. But it is 30 Years industry Pruthvi, who steals the show with his hilarious comedy during the end.

Music of the film is yet another bonus, and all the songs have been shot quite well. Second half of the film is quite entertaining and has been executed well. Hamsa Nandini adds the necessary glamor and comedy quotient to the film. Raghu Babu and Roller Raghu bring in decent laughs.

Minus Points:-
Once again, story of the film is quite routine and has nothing new in it. Even though the first half has a few laughs and romance, the actual story kicks off only during the interval point.

Even though the second half starts with a bang, routine family set up and comedy come in to the picture. At least one song in the first half could have been easily chopped off. After a point, the film gets predictable and a bit lengthy.

Technical Aspects:-
Camerawork in the film is quite decent, and showcases the film in a good light. Director Srivas should also be applauded for the way he has presented Gopichand in a handsome and entertaining way. Even though he chooses a predictable story, the way he executes the film with ample entertainment is pretty good. Dialogues are quite simple and have been written decently.

As said earlier, screenplay of the film is a bit slow and gets predictable at times. Music of the film is good as Anup Rubens has given some lovable and peppy tunes. Having said that, the way songs have been placed leaves a lot to be desired. Editing is quite good but could have gone away with a few unnecessary scenes in the second half.

Verdict:-
On the whole, Loukyam is a decent entertainer with comedy working in major parts. Gopichand’s acting, hilarious comedy by Pruthvi and Brahmanandam in the second half are basic plus. On the flip side, even this film also suffers from the same tried and tested formula of the routine family entertainers. But who cares, Loukyam provides you the much needed fun and relief than the past few releases, and will nicely be lapped up by the family audience.
