GHMC to introduce 50 more bio-toilets
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will install 50 bio-toilets by the month end. Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, held a review meeting with the officials here on Monday on bio toilets. He directed the officials to install the toilets at strategic locations in the city. On an average, 300 people make use of the already existing toilets.
There are plans of designing toilets for women in the future. The toilets will be solar powered and designed in such a manner that advertisement revenue could be generated. It is reported that 1.5 lakh litres of water per year could be saved by using these toilets.
