Ram Charan announces Rs 2 lakh for dead fan's kin
Actor Ram Charan came into the rescue of the kin of Kannayya who lost his life in a stampede in Kurnool district.
Kannayya died in a stampede as a crowd jostled to enter into a theater to watch 'Govindudu Andarivadele' film at Yemmigunuru of Kurnool district on Wednesday.While Kannayya died on the spot, several other suffered minor injuries.
"My latest film 'GOVINDUDU ANDARIVADELE' released today. Unfortunately I came to know a fan (Kannayya) in Yemmiganur of Kurnool district at Siva theatre lost his life in a stampede.May his soul rest in peace and my deepest condolence to his family. I am declaring an ex-gratia of 2 lakhs to his family," Ram Charan said in a press release.
The relatives of the deceased blamed the theater management for not taking precautionary measures knowing fully well that there would be a heavy crowd on the eve of Dasara. Tense moments prevailed at the theater as the relatives staged a dharna.
