Richa Chadda doesn’t care for big names
Mumbai: After making her presence felt with films such as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Fukrey last year, Richa Chadda is now looking forward to her next release Tamanchey. What is interesting is that Salman Khan is backing the project and released the music of the film on Wednesday.
In an industry that thrives on star power, Richa says she doesn’t need to pick a film depending on who the lead male star is. “I don’t sign films on the basis of my co-stars. I just ensure that the banner, director and producer are stable enough to make sure the film gets a proper release. After that it’s the script that is important. My role should be able to make an impact without depending on the hero.”
We ask Richa about what happened to her other film Ishqeria, that she shot with Neil Nitin Mukesh a while ago, where she plays a romantic character. The actress admits she is equally clueless about that project. “The film has been complete for a long time now. As far as I know, the director got married and her career has taken a backseat. So I honestly don’t know if that film will ever release.”
