Raai Laxmi has no time for controversies

Chennai: Raai Laxmi is one actress who has been in the news regardless of whether she has had films or not in her kitty. Missing in action of late, she says, “I am working in three languages and keeping myself occupied. It is a deliberate attempt to keep away from silly issues,” she says at the launch of her new movie with Lawrence, titled Oru Ticketla Rendu Cinema. It is actually an experimental attempt by Raghava Lawrence, two films being rolled in one. One is titled Karuppu Durai in which Raai Laxmi is teaming up with him; the other is called Kizhavan (Old Man) where talks are on with Andrea to star as the female lead.

“I have a challenging role in Karuppu,” she says. “It demands not only a different look, but I also have to portray a gamut of expressions, like romance, comedy, sentiment and action. I loved the script when Lawrence sir narrated it.” She has usually been seen in films with two heroines. “Anything wrong with that,” she shoots back. “When the trend has changed and even heroes are opting for multi-starrers, I have no issues, accepting such roles,” she says, while also nursing a desire to act as a ghost in a movie.
