Kollywood shuts down in support of Amma
All the major departments of Kollywood film industry are set to fast a day in support of Tamil Nadu's ex-chief minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalitha on the disproportionate wealth judgement.
Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors were the first to announce their decision to cancel all four shows for today [Sep 30], which is now limited to morning and matinee shows. Rest of the industry associations – Tamil Film Producers Council, Directors Union, South Indian Film Artists Association and FEFSI have extended their support and canceled all the shootings on Tuesday.

“We are saddened by the Special Court’s judgement and film shooting would cease and theaters would be shut during their fasting period.” said a joint action committee of all nine industry bodies.
