AP Govt enhances age limits for the jobs
Hyderabad: It is definitely a happy news for the unemployed. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has increased upper age limit for government employment from 34 to 40 years.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh issued a GO today in this regard. The gesture of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will facilitate the unemployed above 34 years to appear for competitive examinations for jobs in government and public sector.
According to the GO, the AP Government is keen to fill vacant posts under various categories in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, recruiting agencies are notifying the vacancies from time to time. As the direct recruitment is being conducted after some gap, the need for enhancing upper age limit from 34 years to 40 years is necessitated due to inevitability of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and consequent shrinking of opportunities to the educated unemployed youth in Andhra Pradesh. The opportunities that existed before the bifurcation of combined AP were lost after the bifurcation of the State. Hence the proposal to enhance the age limit from 34 years to 40 years has become need of the hour.
Accordingly, the rule was amended raising the upper age limit from 34 years as prescribed in Rule 12 of the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, by six years for the recruitments.
