AP CM leaves for Chattisgarh Tomorrow
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who is adopting mission approach to find solutions to the problems faced by the State has now decided to take up another mission. This time, the mission is to seek the nod of the government of Chattisgarh not to create hurdles in the completion of Polavaram project and also to study the design of Naya Raipur city and see if it could be adopted in constructing the new capital of AP.
Naidu will be visiting Chhattisgarh on Monday. During his one-day visit, Naidu will hold talks with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh to know why the government of Chattisgarh was objecting to the construction of Polavaram project.
The Chhattisgarh government has been demanding that the height of Polavaram project be reduced to lessen the submergence in that State.
After holding discussions with Raman Singh on Polavaram, Naidu will go on a guided tour across Naya Raipur, the new capital of Chhattisgarh.
It may be mentioned here that the committee on new capital headed by P Narayana had visited Chattisgarh last week and submitted a report to Naidu. The report is said to have laid greater emphasis on laying of roads and construction of modern drainage systems as they exist in Naya Raipur.
Naidu is also likely to study the model adopted by the Chhattisgarh government to acquire land for construction of the capital of that State. Farmers in Chhattisgarh were given 40 per cent of the developed land under land pooling in lieu of the land they had parted for building the capital. A week later, Naidu would also visit Odisha capital Bhubaneswar and will discuss the issue of Polavaram with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
