Hyderabad City Police rejects permission for Varavara Rao’s program
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City police rejected the permission requested by Varavara Rao for conducting a meeting and to take out a rally on Sunday.
As per the order, the police termed the ‘Pratyamnaya Rajakeeya Vedika’ (Forum for Political Alternative), as a Frontal organisation of CPI (Maoist) Party. As the party and all its formations and front organisations were banned and declared as ‘Terrorist Organisations’ by Central government and banned by State Government, the permission was rejected.
Moreover, the police points out that the application has clearly mentioned that this meeting was for reviewing the progress, achievements and objectives of Ten years of United Revolutionary Movement. It also expressed apprehensions over resurgence of CPI (Maoist) Party, as extensive campaigning for the programme was taken up in the areas affected with Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the States of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, AP and Telangana. DCP Central Zone Hyderabad, V B Kamalasan Reddy said.
