SAIL has the second largest mining out fit in the country. The mines of SAIL started their operations as captive sources of raw materials for its integrated steel plants. Major portionof its mining activities is managed by Raw Materials Division (RMD). Other mines are the Bhilai group of mines and the mines of VISL.
